RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS (RAK's)
To get you started, I have listed 30 ideas below. Put them into practice and/or create your own.
1. Send someone a hand written note of thanks.
2. Buy a lottery ticket and put it in someone’s mailbox.
3. Put some coins in another person’s parking meter.
4. Buy a coffee or better yet, lunch for a colleague.
5. Shovel your neighbor’s driveway.
6. Send someone a small gift anonymously.
7. Stop and help someone replace their flat tire.
8. Let someone go ahead of you in line.
9. Pay for the drinks at the table next to you.
10. Treat a friend to the movies for no reason.
11. Give a huge tip to someone when they least expect it.
12. Hold the train door open for someone rushing to get in.
13. Give up your seat for someone else.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN
Welcome to the GCHS Healthy Lifestyle Challenge! I hope that during the next six weeks we will all develop at least one new healthy habit but even beyond that, my hope is that we can build into eachother, encourage one another, have fun and positively change the culture around here! Let's use this blog to share stories, ideas or examples of random acts of kindness, health tips, successes or defeats and words of encouragement. I will be posting pictures throughout the competition so if anyone captures a teammate at their best (or worst) email it to me and I will put it up on the blog. Most of all, I hope you all have fun during the Challenge! This may just be the start of an amazing annual event.
POINT SYSTEM
- Cardio workout 1 pt/15-30 min
- 2 pt/over 30 min
- Strength Training 1 pt/4-7 different exercises
- 2 pt/8+ different exercises
- Weight loss 1 pt/pound lost
- Weight Maintenance 1 pt/week maintained
- Fiber 1 pt/15-20 grams of fiber intake/day
- Water 1 pt/six 8 oz glasses water intake/day
